Beginning in 2021, the FCC and ARRL VEC requires all examinees to have an FCC Registration Number (FRN) at the time of the exam. If you have a current license with the FCC (amateur, GMRS, commercial, or other) you may already have an FRN and will need to provide it at the time of the exam. Those who do not have an FRN can obtain one by going to https://www.fcc.gov/wireless/support/universal-licensing-system-uls-resources/getting-fcc-registration-number-frn and bring it to the exam

Exam cost – $15 (cash or check)

Test requirements – Photo ID (minors can use birth certificate, social security card or other government issued ID when accompanied by parent/guardian), FRN, previous CSCE (if you have taken the test and are upgrading), $15 (cash or check).
