I’m excited to report that we will have a special guest presentation at our August, 2016 meeting. We will be joined by Bart Jahnke W9JJ, contest branch manager for the ARRL.

Some of you may know that Bart originated in Central Wisconsin and was licensed at an WVRA Field Day 36 years ago. Bart is a long time ARRL staff members, previously serving as the Repeater Directory editor and VEC coordinator. After a brief hiatus he is back at league headquarters and currently in charge of contesting. He will be doing a presentation/update on what’s going on at headquarters and will have an informal Q&A as time allows.

Due to the unique nature of this opportunity, we will move our start time to 6:30pm Tuesday 8/2 in order to complete the business meeting in a timely fashion. Club members and guests are invited to come early for the business meeting or show up at 7:00pm for the start of Jahnke’s presentation.

We encourage and invite all amateurs in the area to attend. This is a unique opportunity, and one that may not be repeated for some time to come. Please pass the word around – we want to have a huge turn out for this event!

Meeting location is at Rasmussen College, 1101 Westwood Dr, Wausau WI 54401. Follow the message board in the college entrance for room number. The college is on Westwood Dr just north of Bridge Street from the I-39/US-51 exit. Click here for location and directions.
